Overseas Pakistanis who have been far away from their houses, friends and families claim that they are charged a huge amount of extra charges, almost three to four fold, while making calls to Pakistan to their friends and family. Their claim is under serious consideration in Lahore High Court and the overseas Pakistanis who have claimed to High Court are given an ultimate hope that their request would be given huge importance.

All the proceedings under ICH have been proving the claim to be the valid one as overseas Pakistanis have been facing this problem since many years. Today, with the considerable fall down in Pakistan economy, it had become almost impossible for Pakistani residents to call their relatives and friends residing outside the country hence there should be some system that would help people to remain in continuous connection with their loved ones. The case is still in court and under careful proceedings. All the tax charges have been imposed on overseas Pakistani’s by the federal government and now it is the foremost duty of government to reduce that high amount of tax charged to an affordable range.

It is the latest report from our reliable source that in the most up-to-date hearing the judge of Lahore High Court has postponed the case till 14^th January 2013 which means a month ahead. While Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has submitted their will towards the request of overseas Pakistani’s and said that the federal government is serious about the case proceedings and will take some time to rethink over the whole scenario and then withdrawal would be possible. The lawyers supporting overseas Pakistani’s claim that federal government should seriously take into account this problem or else it would have been a highly non-credible behavior of the federal government towards its people.

Pakistan telecommunication authority is acting as an intermediary between the Lahore High Court and overseas supporters. It was reported earlier that federal government has order PTA to prepare documents of withdrawal but afterwards there was nothing such thing like withdrawal of proceedings of ICH. This is the utmost unreliability on part of PTA and federal government as they are continuously delaying the court proceedings as its giving an impression of them not being serious about the case proceedings.

It is worth mentioning here that federal government has issued directives to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for developing documents and notifications for the verification of withdrawal of tax charges issued on international calls but uptill now not any confirm and reliable news of development of these documents and notification had been heard of. Overseas Pakistani’s are anxiously waiting for withdrawal of extra tax charges on international calls but just they can do is to wait for the right time
