It is really shocking to know that Kodak would have anything to do with a nuclear reactor, but it did. For 30 years, in its basement bunker near Rochester, New York, Kodak kept a fully functioning nuclear reactor that had 3.5-pounds highly enriched uranium. Kodak kept this fact away from public knowledge until 2006. The U.S. goes around complaining from states and non-state actors having nuclear enrichment, it had one of its oldest camera companies having it in its basement.

According to Rochester’s local newspaper, Democrat and Chronicle, the reporter Steve Orr says there was never any worry since the situation never got out of hands, it never exploded, it never leaked and it never was any danger to environment or human lives. However, its security and safety precautions kept throughout does not mean that it was not a folly and neither does it justify keeping it. Still the logic seems very much unclear when considered in front of potential risks.

Albert Filo, a former Kodak research scientist said that it was just for checking some chemicals for impurities and for an imaging technique called “neutron radiography”. Still the answer is unsatisfactory. Could not he visit other nuclear reactor laboratories maintained by the U.S. government itself rather than having one of their own? Stupidity to say the least.

Till 1974, Kodak was sane enough to use the facilities at Cornell University, but later planned having one its very own! In 2006, Kodak felt no longer the need of it and helped by the U.S. Federal government shifted it safely to a uranium storage facility in South Carolina. If Kodak had been using its own nuclear reactor, then the question is who else has also been using it under their basement without common knowledge.

Recently Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has become the first company, who achieve one million broadband users. It doesn’t only grow in Pakistan but also delivered the latest technologies and products to its customers and had made the life of its customers digital. According to them it is the fruit of the hard work of the employers of the PTCL. PTCL also hold 50% share of broadband in Market.

The current President and CEO of PTCL Mr. Walid Irshaid published something about this greatest achievement. This is stated below:

“With over 3 million fixed line users and 1 million Broadband customers in over 1000 cities, PTCL is reaching the country’s furthest areas where others have not.

We are fueling the Broadband revolution in Pakistan with our EVO 3G Wireless Broadband offering true mobility and fastest wireless Internet within the reach of every citizen of Pakistan.”

PTCL is growing very fastly , can you imagine PTCL introduced DSL broadband in 2007 and EVO / Nitro in 2009 and today it has 1 million users. That’s milestone for PTCL.

PTCL claims that its DSL broadband service is available in 1,000 cities countrywide and Wireless broadband service EVO stretched in 180 cities while Nitro in 70 cities.

PTCL is not only concentrating on landline customers, but also introducing different offers of DSL , EVO , Nitro time by time to attain a better position.

Recently PTA also reported that PTCL has 1.9 million users in Pakistan on the end of February 2012.

And I think that PTCL is really proving its motto “Welcome To The Future” by introducing latest offers and products.

WIPO recently posted to its website that the domain has been ‘Terminated’, with the domain owner expected to have relinquished ownership. The iPhone5.com domain is now being held by brand protection agency Corporation Service Company, which may have been used by Apple to take ownership.

The domain was registered in 2008 and operated as a online bulletin board. Its owners stated that it was “not endorsed, sponsored, nor otherwise affiliated with Apple” and was “for the sole purpose of entertainment and knowledge.”

The dispute doesn’t confirm that Apple will name its next-generation smartphone ‘iPhone 5′, the company is probably acting to stop people from profiting from its trademarks.

India currently has 57 million registered Facebook members, putting it some distance behind the US (157 million) and narrowly below Brazil (59 million) — according to Socialbakers — but India has barely scratched the service of its online potential, and could bring hundreds of millions of its population online in the coming years.

Speaking to CNBC, Gartner analyst Shalini Verma predicted that a change of order will take place before the end of 2015, driven by a continued growth in mobile-based Web access:

India could overtake the United States in the next three years. Last year, Facebook users in India doubled. Growth will be driven by mobile Internet users in second- and third-tier cities.

But according to Digital Trends, the recent Akamai State of the Internet report shows which countries have the fastest internet speed and mentions the slowest too. South Korea is the country with the fastest internet speed with 17.5 Mbps.

To understand what that means, here is an example. A full-length could be downloaded within 30 minutes and a song downloads in less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds. In contrast to South Koreans are states like Cuba which connect with the speed under 300kbps. The U.S. has an average connection speed of 5.8 Mbps. The internet speed of Pakistan can be checked out here.

According to Akamai’s data, the top ten the countries with the highest average broadband connection speeds are:

South Korea

Japan

Hong Kong

The Netherlands

Latvia

Switzerland

Ireland

Czech Republic

Romania

Belgium

At times we wish to go back to the past, to mend something that we have said or done, but mostly to our childhood days, which are days when ignorance is bliss. However, we also do think about reaching out to the future sooner or just jump at some future point in time to see what would happen and then be back here again to act accordingly.

But all these wishes of going back and forth in time are but imaginative devices used as probability mostly in arts and literature. Here, on the internet though, you can have a little bit of that desire fulfilled to email your future self through Future Me. Through this you can write a letter to your future self. If you want, you can make this letter public too or keep it to your future self. You can read other letters made public by users.

You can choose the time of delivery. And also add your picture and simply send it to yourself. However, you can also use it to email someone else by putting in their email address and have it delivered at some other point in time of your choosing. Those who are looking to reveal a secret or have themselves be reminded of something can use this site.
