Another Venture Called ‘ParaNorman’ for 3D Computer-Animation Fans
We will see another joint venture of Focus Features and animation company LAIKA together again after Coraline (2009) in another animated film, ParaNorman. It will also be 3D, stop-motion film, which is being directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler. Sam directed earlier Flushed Away (2006) and Chris did storyboard supervision and also wrote the original screenplay for Coraline.
This new animated adventure is to be released on Aug 17 this year. The movie will be a comedy-thriller about a small town under attack by zombies. It is currently in production with a voice cast that consists of Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Elaine Stritch.
Caroline, which was based on Neil Gaiman’s 2002 novel of the same name, received a critical acclaim and commercial success with several awards nominations and a couple of wins as well. Caroline was nominated for Best Animated Feature in the Academy Awards. All of this has raised the expectations for ParaNorman, which could only be good as it will make the directors work better and we can get to see the best that they have to offer.
