National Forum for Environment and Health has selected Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) for its 8th Annual Environment Excellence Award 2011. The Environment Excellence Award is organized annually by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) an NGO affiliated with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and supported by Pakistan\’s Ministry of Environment. Mandate of NFEH is to recognize and promote organizations that make outstanding contributions towards sustainable development, promote environmental stewardship and build sustainable communities, and their internal environmental, health and safety practices. A large number of organizations participate in this contest. A comprehensive survey is done to see the ground situation and specific teams visit the contesting companies, discuss the contributions and then decide the award.

The customers of Korangi exchange area are being notified that all those telephone numbers with the prefix series 511 and 513 will be migrated on 3-7-2011 from 1:00 am to 9:00 am, 509 on 5-7-2011 from 1:00 am to 9:00 am, 508 on 7-7-2011 from 1:00 an to 9:00 am and 505 and 506 on 9-7-2011 to 13-7-2011 from 1:00 am to 9:00 am. There will be no change in the existing telephone numbers after the migration. There will be minor change of procedure for activation and de-activation of code barring service and other value added services.

PTCL begins joint development of information and communication technology infrastructure in Military Lands and cantonment offices across the country(ML&C).
PTCL and ML&C department has taken this joint initiative to automate the business processes by introducing Information Technology and computerization at all levels of hierarchy. PTCL will be connecting all 62 Military Estate Offices (MEO’s) and Cantonment Boards (CB’s) through internet. It will facilitate the cantonments with a mix of its diversified product range including, Premium Internet Bandwidth with end to end fiber connectivity, Premium Business DSL and wireless broad band EVO Services. It will also provide a backbone to ML&C department to run a centralized online system.

PTCL is Launching IP video phone(IPVP) service. Video telephone is the telephone equipped for both audio and video communication. IP Video Phone service is the latest technology through which customers can enjoy two way audio and video communication using internet as the media for communication.
