DESIGN
It’s a very plain and simple looking laptop unlike other gaming laptops with LEDs and flashy look. The screen is a very crisp 1920 x 1080 resolution and the colors are sharp looking. The entire machine is black in color and has rubberized material at the bottom. The touch pad is made up of a different material and is very unorthodox but you usually get used to it. Origin added a fingerprint detector in order to add some security measures. It also provides you with a sub woofer which can be enhanced with THX Trustudio Pro application so that noise levels can be optimized.
The device gets equipped with 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, a fire wire, an HDMI and a DVi-D port. The overall design gives a very solid look that machine is very durable and can endure any hardships it faces.
PERFORMACE
The EON15 S comes with a Quad core Intel Core i7-2760QM 2.4 GHz which is quite a power boost, 16 GB Kingston DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, 240GB SSD storage, all three of these specs are the high end specs which makes this laptop a feast for the gamers.
The performance shows that it’s a beast; some of the benchmarks such as 3D Mark Vantage and 3D Mark 11 were tested on this laptop. On the Vantage it got 15092 and on the Mark11 it got 3590 which is higher than the Asus G53 SX. Any game runs on the EON15S at the ultra mode and its way ahead of the Alienware and Asus. Graphics chip is doing a great job on this laptop and runs games at high settings easily. Crysis 2 which is the benchmark nowadays runs well on DX11 and at high resolution and Extreme settings.
BATTERY, HEAT AND NOISE
The heat goes back two holes separated by the fans and for the GPU and one for the processor as each of them is necessary to keep the temperature low. The laptop is cool most of the times but at high settings it gets warm.
It produces high noise when dealing with high games and on ultra high settings which is inevitable as the whole laptop is on the verge of its high pace working which will eventually create some noise. As far as the battery is concerned it gives you only 100 minutes which is not that good at all but at this high settings battery is ought to be used at this rate.
If you are willing to spend the money then go for it because its one of the best for gaming.
