HTC ONE V

Yet another smart phone which will extend the boundaries of lower mid- level smart phones. At a price of £230 in UK and $350 in US, the One V have lots of promises to make and boundaries to meet. With a 3.7 inch screen and 1 GHZ processer and the protruding chin design it’s quite a catch at this price.
HTC One V has an aluminum unibody which gives it a premium and elegant look. It has curved back edges which make it easy to hold and its prominent protruded chin design makes it different from others in its category. It has a 3.7 –inch Gorilla Glass display and 9.2 mm thick and weighs lightly around 115g. It has only two physical buttons one at the top for power/ wake and a volume button on the right. There’s a 3.5mm head jack at the top with a LED which flashes anytime when there’s a message, miss call or a notification. The bottom has three touch buttons for multi tasking, back and home, left panel has Micro USB port for charging.
The back features a 5mp camera and a flash and at the bottom there’s a plastic cover which when removed shows a place for a SIM and a micro SD card.

The display is not the bad it supports a 800 x 480 resolution along with a pixel density of 225ppi. F or a mid range smart phone the display is bright, sharp and vibrant. The text appears sharp and can compete with today’s AMOLED screens.
The One V comes with a 5 mp camera which can shoot, record videos and has no shutter lag. The burst shutter mode is the best; you can get several images per second and select the best amongst it. The image looks good even in low light; the autofocus is also decent enough. The video recording lags behind as it is not that good.
The device comes with an Android 4.0, the interface is quite smooth and works well and you can also use Android exclusive Google apps such as chrome beta. HTC made the software quite user friendly and pre installed apps include twitter, facebook, Dropbox etc.
With the single-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HTC One V produces fairly decent results. The videos play quite well and it stuck when lots of applications are being run at the same time. The battery life is just superb, the 1500mAh battery can last an entire day on just a single charge. Texting and typing is quite good on the One V. The connectivity on 3G and Wi-Fi networks on One V is quite impressive. The smart phone comes with a 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage which is expendable up to 32GB via micro SD.
The phone compiles simplicity and elegance, with its design and the performance and the price, it’s not a bad option. But if you want something more than this then you are going for a high mid range.
