Don’t Threat President Obama on Social Media Or Be Jailed for Five Years

Regardless of how much you hate your current president if you are an American, just like most Middle Eastern countries, where the U.S. wants to be seen as a savior of democracy and free speech, you cannot say anything against him on social media. Especially, saying anything to the effect of threatening his life, you are the one to be gone for good to jail, if five years are really what it takes for your life to be ruined. In some other cases, it could be more than just five years in jail for threatening Obama.

When it comes to Facebook, remember that everything is being carefully recorded, even your deleted links, posts, comments and Likes. So, removing the proof won’t do any good. Facebook is a good way for the American government to keep a tap on not just the American citizens but the world over. Hence, for a case like that of 20-year-old Florida’s student, named Joaquin Amador Serrapio, threatening President Obama is definitely something you don’t want to do when using Facebook. Serrapio was being hypothetical, but such imagination is not taken lightly by those in the President’s security team.

An interesting incident that came into my notice occurred on the site called SodaHead, where users can share their questions and express their opinions. There were questions like that of impeaching Obama or even asking out of frustration to make an assassination attempt on the U.S. top guy. The question was removed immediately before I could have given my thoughts. So much to the freedom of speech and expression! Though there had been an attempt on Obama’s life last year, but nothing serious happened. We do wish the top leader to continue his term and even return the second time to make things better that became worse the first time round.
