When presenting the latest Apple iPad, everyone was surprised to learn that this new generation iPad would be called “New iPad” iPad instead of 3. Thus, the debate was launched about the next iPhone and a majority of people think that it is therefore called “New iPhone” iPhone instead of 5.
However, there are still many questions and uncertainties about the release of iphone 5, and it is thought even since the last action from Apple, that it will be called iPhone 5.
In fact, Apple seems accustomed to claim the domain names in connection with its latest products soon after their releases, and this is not always easy because the owners of these domain names do not seem to agree. Recently, Apple made an application to the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), which manages the ownership of domain names in the U.S., to retrieve a URL related to the next iPhone “iPhone5.com”
The site is currently hosted under the domain deals with the news of new iPhone 5 in the form of a forum, it was launched in October 2011 during the announcement of the iPhone 4S. However, this kind of action is not usual for Apple, the company has never asked to recover domain names before the release of iphone 5.
Thus, this claim Apple and other mobile reviews websites may well tell us that the next smartphone from the company follows the numbering of the iPhone to be called iPhone 5.
