Recently, Kamal Shah, the Country Manager Microsoft said in an interview that the company is looking for the 3G launch in Pakistan because it will open a lot of doors for software producing companies to contribute in the latest technology development. With the collaboration of the telecommunication companies in Pakistan and infrastructure vendors along with Microsoft, the 3G technology will be available for the customers.

The role of software companies is important because they maintain data-based technology with content supply and applications to customers through their networks. Microsoft Pakistan is looking for better technical and business aspects for the upcoming 3G technology in the country and negotiations regarding this matter are underway. Microsoft is especially trying to work out with the cellular companies on this. A lot of economic activity is expected with the launch, especially employment for the professionals and youth.

Microsoft Pakistan has launched the National Student Software Accessibility (NSSA) Portal in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) which has given software technology a go-ahead. If Microsoft Pakistan succeeds in getting further into the 3G technology, it will truly become the leader in this new sector, a position that it already has with the 95% of the software technology used in the country produced by the software giant.
